Tuesday night Patrick Mead spoke to us about our identity in God as we personally define it. I could spend an entire week on the notes that I took from this keynote but it just wouldn’t do justice to the sermon itself. Instead, here are some key points of the keynote and some quotes that are pretty self explanatory. My hope is that they spark some motivation and that you study yourself and learn more. Feel free to comment or email me if you have any questions or comments! 🙂
What God/Satan Want You to Think of Yourself
There are two stories:
1. Evolution: goo to you by way of the zoo
2. God who loves his creation and is pleased in the beginning
Satan will tell you lies. He whispers them into your ear when you aren’t paying attention. He slips them into “half truths” so that you justify the sin.
Bible “heroes” are REAL PEOPLE!
If you try to live your life like someone else, your going to lose your life.
Remember that story of Jesus feeding the crowd with one small boy’s lunch? The boy didn’t have a lot to give Jesus but he gave him what he had.
“You don’t have to have much for Jesus, but you have to give him what you’ve got!”
You don’t have to be a superhero, just play the part you have.
Every time the devil reminds you of your past, remind him of his future.
The kingdom of God is YOU showing up with whatever you’ve got, confident your saved, and ding what you can NOW!
